The Barnyard Explore| A Playful Treasure Hunt for the new Academic year

The Barnyard Event 2025 at Little Red Hen was a joyful way to begin the new school year. Designed as a treasure hunt, it gave parents a chance to walk through the different corners of the preschool curriculum with their children, discovering how each space nurtures growth, creativity, and confidence. Here’s a glimpse of what they explored together:

Music Room

A cheerful space where rhythm and song set the mood. From drums to tambourines, parents saw how music helps children listen closely, remember patterns, build language, and express emotions.

Loose Parts Play

Buttons, shells, corks, and wooden pieces became tools of imagination. Families discovered how open-ended play sparks creativity, problem-solving, and independence, while strengthening fine motor skills.

6 Bricks Program

With just six colourful LEGO® DUPLO® bricks, children and parents tried fun little activities that boost memory, focus, and quick thinking — perfect daily brain boosters.

Troy Blocks

Large wooden blocks turned into towers, bridges, and enclosures. This corner showed how children learn teamwork, spatial awareness, balance, and storytelling through big builds.

Reading Nook

A cozy corner of cushions and books. Parents experienced how reading grows vocabulary, imagination, empathy, and creates a calm space for children to self-regulate.

Play of Painting

With brushes and colours, children expressed freely. Parents saw how painting supports fine motor skills, emotional release, and confidence through creativity.

STEAM Hub

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math came alive through playful experiments. It was a space of questions, discoveries, and collaboration.

DIY Area

A maker’s corner with recycled materials where children built, taped, and tinkered. It nurtured creativity, independence, and problem-solving.

Sensory Play

Textures, sounds, and colours engaged all senses. Families saw how sensory play supports brain development, motor skills, language, and emotional balance.

Barnyard 2025 was more than just a first day — it was a meaningful journey for parents and children to step into the world of Little Red Hen Preschools learning together.
